Resolving Error 80010519 On The PS3 When Signing Into The PSN

February 5th, 2013 - Posted by Steve Marks to Gaming.

I went to use my PlayStation 3 last night and 2 weird things happened. Firstly, it wouldn’t turn on by pressing the PS button on the controllers. I had to turn it on by pressing the power button on the actual console. Secondly, I couldn’t log into the PSN (PlayStation Network), no matter how many times I tried or, how many times I reset the router. I even tried resetting my password to no avail.

The error I was getting when trying to login was as follows:

An error has occured.

Pretty useful huh? Not! A quick Google on the error code provided about 3 results where this error code was being discussed but the outcome was either a dead end, or someone saying you have to send your PS3 off for repairs.

The Solution

Luckily for me it didn’t come to this and I managed to solve it by following the steps below:

1. Power down you PS3.
2. Remove the power cable or turn it off at the plug for at least 10 seconds, the longer the better. Make sure it is a long period of time as I tried quickly turning the power off and on to no avail.
3. Turn the power back on and boot up the console.
4. You will be prompted for the date and time. Enter this and continue.
5. You should now be able to sign into the PSN straight away.

I just turned the system off and then on and it was fine.. Also the system does not turn on from the controller some times for me too and at times it turns off and a red ring starts flashing and my solution to that is unplugging the ps3 and plugging it again..

I tried this and still nothing. I have had 2 error codes since I’ve bought my ps3 and I have never been able to log on to the psn. The first error code was the (8001050F) and I put in the correct time and date and everything. Well I go to put in the date and time at the start up, and then try psn and then the error code (80010519) appears. So I’ve just recently done all those steps you had posted and still nothing. I still have to enter in the date and time everytime I go on and now it won’t let me set time and date via Internet because the code (8001050F) has occurred. So plz can anyone help me set up this thing once and for all?
