Laravel Google Maps V3 API Package

July 2nd, 2014 - Posted by Steve Marks to Javascript / jQuery, PHP, Web Development.

Update: Unfortunately it looks like the GitHub repo, and even the GitHub user, linked to in this article no longer exists. I’m not sure why, but if anyone knows of a Laravel version of this library I’ll be happy to update the links accordingly.

Almost four years have passed since I first created my Google Maps V3 API CodeIgniter library. During this time it’s been downloaded by tens of thousands of developers and is by far the most popular page on this blog.

With the Laravel framework coming onto the scene over recent years I’ve been asked a fair bit whether I could convert this existing library to a Laravel package. Fortunately someone has done this now and made it available for download here:

The features and functionality included are exactly the same. The only difference is the method by which you initialise and configure the library.

Full credit goes to Michael Hopkins [link removed] for creating and sharing this.

Hi, it looks like someone else is keeping this Laravel version going. I just found this https://github.com/GeneaLabs/Phpgmaps. I haven’t used it yet but giving it a go now.

  2. You’ll see why if you read the big bold text in the first paragraph, or one of the other comments.

Why the link was remove? I am doing my project right now…hopeless

  4. @Petr – I’m afraid the Laravel version of the library isn’t/wasn’t mine. I was simply linking to someone else’s repository as they had converted it to the Laravel and it’s something I get asked a lot. I’ll see if I can track down the link (if it even exists anymore) and update the page accordingly. Thanks for letting me know.
